Don’t Stop in the Middle of the Road, Move Forward!

Have you ever been in a situation of what you need to be in your career? Which degree needs to take to jump to the next level after high school? After pursuing high school, a lot of questions arise in my head: what do I need to become? Is it possible to achieve my dream? Which career will keep my path open? Who will lead me to my hidden dream? etc. I know a lot of students in our Rutgers campus itself have this nightmare of ‘what I need to be in career.’ But as life goes on we will find our path and move forward to enhance our hidden dream. When we step into one path it will lead us to the destination without knowing that we are leading them.

As a student, we are also on a path of degree that we need to achieve, and we are moving forward through the path without knowing what will be at the end of the destination. Some students get to their destination smoothly without getting into any traffic, some students may have some difficulties in the middle of the road but will reach the destination, and some students may stop in the middle of the traffic, and struggle to get to the destination, and some may drop their plan and go back to the starting point to choose another direction. There are other scenarios we will get when we move forward through the path of our careers. And these scenarios will give us ups and downs to reach our point.

As an immigrant to the US, I was excited to see a new culture, to meet new people, and more than anything, I was very eager to go to college in America. I faced many challenges when I came to the US, struggling to find a path to proceed, and not getting any idea where to step as you may know everything is new when you go to a new country as an immigrant, as life will not go smoothly with our wishes. All the questions that I mentioned above arise in my head but I don’t fall down because I know as life goes on I will get into my hidden dream. With the help of my family and friends, I choose my path as a computer science student and I would never say that the path I chose doesn’t have any traffic, there is traffic in the middle of the road, and at some point, I may be stuck off thinking what I need to do, but as I mentioned above, I know that there are ups and downs at the middle of any path and keeping that words in my mind, I am moving forward to reach into my destination.

The words of the former president of India A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, about the dream, "is not what you see in sleep, the dream is something which doesn't let you sleep.” A dream is something that we need in our lives, or need to make in our lives, and following that dream is the success that you made in your life. And it will lead the way to get into the career.
